USDC: Test USD Coin on Monad Testnet

USD Coin · 6 decimals · core routing token

USDC on Monad Testnet is a test stablecoin, a USD-pegged ERC-20 deployed specifically for the testnet environment. It is not the same contract as mainnet USDC and has no real economic value. On PuddleSwap, test USDC is one of three core routing tokens, so any registered token with a pool against it is automatically tradeable.

USDC at a glance

Getting test USDC

Test USDC can be minted through the stable faucet contract, or received via swaps on PuddleSwap. Since it's a core token, many pairs are available. You can swap MON for USDC in one transaction from the swap widget.

Decimals caveat

USDC uses 6 decimals instead of the usual 18, matching mainnet USDC. When you quote or add liquidity, PuddleSwap handles the decimal conversion automatically, but if you're writing your own contract or script, make sure to read decimals() from the token rather than assuming 18.

Pools involving USDC

Because USDC is a core token, most new tokens choose to pair against it. Browse all active pools to see which ones.

FAQ

Is testnet USDC the same as real USDC?
No. Testnet USDC is a separate ERC-20 deployed on Monad Testnet for testing. It has no economic value, is not issued by Circle, and cannot be redeemed for real USD.
How do I get testnet USDC?
Claim from the stable faucet on Monad Testnet, swap MON or WMON for USDC on PuddleSwap, or receive a transfer from another developer. The faucet is the canonical free source.
Why is USDC a core routing token on PuddleSwap?
PuddleSwap's star routing designates USDC, USDT, and WMON as hubs. Every pool must pair against at least one of them, which keeps the routing graph small and predictable for both users and contract integrations.
Does USDC stay close to 1:1 with USDT and WMON on testnet?
Against USDT, yes. Both are USD-pegged so the USDC/USDT pool stays near 1:1 (minus the 0.30% LP fee). Against WMON, no. The USDC/WMON pair is volatile because MON's price moves against USD.
